Eiffel Scholarship for Master’s and Doctoral Studies in France (Fully Funded)

The French Government invites students from all over the world to apply to the Eiffel Scholarship for Master’s and PhD studies in the Republic of France.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was created by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French institutions to attract outstanding and brilliant international students to enroll in Master’s and PhD programs .

About Eiffel Scholarship

The French Government (Eiffel )Scholarship is one of the most important scholarships around the world as it It gives

opportunity to the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and

encourages applicants up to 30 years old from developing countries at master’s level, and applicants up to 35 years

old from developing and industrialized countries at PhD level.

Eiffel Scholarship Details:

1. Funding  Organisation : The French Government

2- Course Level: Master’s degree or PhD

3. Deadline: 9 January 2020 (annual)

4- Place of study in: France

5. The course starts: in the academic year: 2020-2021

6. Host institutions: French universities and academic institutions

7.Target group: International students

Fields of  the study available in Eiffel Scholarship:

1-Master’s degree programme, in an Engineering programme, or in a PhD programme (in a cotutelle or joint doctoral thesis supervision, in partnership with a foreign higher education institution) in Five major fields:

2-  law

3- Economics and management

4-Engineering sciences at Masters’ level, sciences in the broad sense for the Doctorate/PhD level (engineering science; exact sciences: mathematics, physics, chemistry and life sciences, nano and biotechnologies, Earth, space and environmental sciences, information sciences and technologies and communication);

5-Political sciences

Eligibility criteria for applying to the Eiffel Scholarship:

Nationality: All nationalities are eligible except French nationals (dual nationals are not eligible if one of the two nationalists is French)

Age: For the Master’s level, the candidate must be no more than 30 years old on the date of application announcement for 2020, meaning that students born after March 1989 are eligible.

At the doctoral level, the candidate must not be older than 35 years at the date of the 2020 application announcement, ie students born after March 1984.

Integration with other scholarships: International students who have already received a scholarship from the French

government under another program are not eligible, up to the time of application, even if the grant in question does

not include social security coverage.

Language skills:  institutions must ensure that  language skills  of the candidates meet the requirements of the relevant course of study.

Funding  awarded by Eiffel Scholarship

For postgraduate studies at the master level, the Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of € 1,181 and can

be awarded for a period of 12 to 36 months.

For postgraduate studies at the doctoral level, the Eiffel Scholarship includes a monthly allowance of € 1,400 and is

awarded for a maximum of 12 months.

In addition, the program covers various expenses including international return trip, local transportation, health

insurance and cultural activities. Scholars may also receive additional housing allowance, subject to certain conditions.

Students admitted to public educational institutions, as holders of French government scholarships, are exempt from registration fees.

 

How to apply for Eiffel Scholarship

Applications from students cannot be accepted directly.

French higher education institutions apply for the EIFFEL scholarship. You must apply and meet the requirements of your chosen French university (partner university) in order to be nominated.

The deadline for submitting applications is January 9, 2020. The deadline for applications for participating French institutions is between November and December 2019.
