The University of Queensland is pleased to invite students from all over the world to apply for a fully funded scholarship to study for a PhD in Health Sciences at the University,

The opportunity is available for Australian and International applicants in order to pursue a PhD degree program at the university in Australia.

About the PhD Program

Gram-negative organisms are a significant cause of healthcare-associated infections. There is only limited understanding of the clinical and molecular epidemiology of these infections in Australian children.

The overall aim of this project is to explore the molecular determinants of virulence and antimicrobial resistance in invasive Gram-negative infections in children and neonates

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must meet the entry requirements for a higher degree by research. also you should have:

A bachelor’s degree with at least honours class IIA or equivalent from approved universities, which includes a relevant research component

A research master’s degree

A coursework master’s degree and an overall GPA (grade point average) equivalent to 5.65 on the 7-point UQ scale, which includes a relevant research component

A postgraduate degree of at least one year full-time equivalent with an overall GPA (grade point average) equivalent to 5.0 on the 7-point UQ scale

Required Documents: Must attach the following documents:

Academic CV

Academic transcript for all post-secondary study undertaken, complete or incomplete, including the institution grading scale

Award certificates/testamurs for all completed post-secondary studies. If you are from China you must provide three documents, your transcript, an award certificate, and a graduate statement/certificate

A copy of your Passport

Contact details from two referees who can best comment on your prior research experience.

Scholarship Benefits:

Each successful winner will get the financial support of $28,092 per annum for deserving candidates.

The duration of scholarship will be Three years with the possibility of two 6-month extensions in approved circumstances.
